Place the strap on the face of the door with the wheel side facing towards the back.

Slide the bolt through the hole and mount the rolling hardware then drill the bottom hole.

Measure and cut two lengths of mounting board for each barn door.
Attach the mounting boards to the top and bottom of the doorway using drywall anchors and ensure that the mounting boards run straight along the doorway.
National hardware provides a mounting template you can use it to locate your holes for the rolling hardware.
Using a stud finder and a level hang the mounting board on the wall studs.
The wheels have a groove in the middle for the rail to rest in.
The kit comes with a handy metal measuring tool you can insert in the groove to simulate the rail.
Once located drill pilot holes with a 1 8 drill bit in the top bolt location then drill with a 7 16 drill.
For single doors start about three or four inches up on the hinge side of the door opening and continue for the length of the backer board.
I used 3 wood screws to attach it and made sure i place a screw on every stud.
For double doors locate the studs on both sides of the door opening.
The door must be no thicker than 1 3 4.
Use the stud finder to locate and mark the studs above the door.
